Roland Garros: service is resumed for the 2017 tournament

Roland Garros - the great annual tennis event is back in Paris from 22nd May to 11th June, 2017. The world’s most outstanding players will come face to face as they demonstrate their passion for that little yellow ball. The Sezz Paris looks forward to welcoming you and trusts that you’ll enjoy a series of spectacular games.

Roland Garros, the rendezvous for the tennis elite

Each year, the Roland Garros Tournament attracts a large audience from around the world. This legendary clay tennis event, founded in 1928 and one of the four Grand Slam tournaments, brings together the world’s most prestigious players. The Roland Garros, where the red clay is known for being a slow surface, is a demanding physical challenge played out in five sets. After Serbia’s Novak Djokovic and Spain's Garbine Muguruza took the 2016 titles we can only wonder at who will win the famous contest this year.

Look back on the history of a tournament that’s rich in surprises

Roland Garros brings its fair share of surprises each year. Ever since the surprise win by Yannick Noah in 1983, the courts have seen tears of joy and disappointment. Some will remember Lendl's unforgettable final victory against John McEnroe in 1984, or the anthology match between Chris Evert and Martina Navratilova in 1985. Others may recall what a revelation Michael Chang was in 1989, or the shortest ever final - won by Steffi Graff against Natasha Zvereva in just 34 minutes - or the first title for Nadal in 2005 or Federer in 2009. This year is certain to be filled with more surprises and reversals of fortune in a series of spectacular and sometimes lengthy tennis tussles.

Celebrity photoshoots on Centre Court

Between serves, you’ll have the chance to meet celebrities who come for the tennis, or simply to be noticed. Many of them attend for the whole tournament, and from the quarter-finals on, you’re as likely to see stars in the stands at Roland Garros as on the courts.  Sezz Paris recommends that you reserve your tickets on the Roland Garros website since none will be available on the spot.
