Fashion Week - Paris dances to the beat of the fashion shows

The next Paris Fashion Week will take place between 22nd and 26th January, 2017 – one of the fashion world’s unmissable events. Established in 1973, Fashion Week takes place twice each year. Nearly a hundred fashion shows will take place in the capital, as well as previews and parties in some of its most iconic places. The Sezz Paris recommends that you embrace the opportunity to be part of a great event featuring some of the most prestigious Parisian haute couture houses.

Fashion Week in Paris – the shows

Paris, the capital of fashion and elegance, prepares for a lavish event that is sure to offer many magical moments. The occasion? The next round of haute couture shows, a whirlwind of prowess and know-how, beauty and ingenuity and sometimes, unique treasures.  The ‘petite-mains’ or seamstresses have been part of the creative storm for weeks but finally the veil will be lifted on the latest haute couture trends for next season. From Chanel to Gaultier via Valentino, Alexis Mabille, Saab, Margiela, Balmain, Dior and Vanessa Bruno, some of the world’s most prestigious designers will take part – only Versace is absent this time. The venues for the shows haven’t been revealed yet - the secrets have been kept well!

Paris Fashion Week 2017, preview the trends

Fashion Week in Paris, like those in New York, London or Milan, announces the trends for the following season. The coming shows are likely to feature puff sleeves and Victorian style necklines. White florals and stripes are big news, as are slouchy day pyjamas and appliqued florals, especially in shades of pale pink and fuchsia. On the colour side, many of the couture houses have opted for fresh shades. Dior and Givenchy with pale pink, Gucci, Pucci, Michael Kors and Céline with bubble-gum pink and Marc Jacobs and Valentino in magenta illuminate the catwalks and contrast with canary yellow at Chanel and red and orange at Miu Mui and Kenzo. The Parisian catwalks promise a cool and colourful symphony that only a privileged few will have the pleasure of discovering soon.
