As 2017 approaches, Sezz Paris wishes you all the very best for the coming year. This past year we have welcomed even more guests to our hotel Sezz Paris, a superb Belle Époque building that is just a 10-minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower. Our customers have taken great pleasure from being a part of the many highlights of 2016. Here’s a short retrospective of some of the best.
Euro 2016, the final of the beautiful game
In early summer, France hosted Euro 2016 – hoping to repeat the performances of Euro 1984 and the 1998 World Cup. On Sunday 10th July 2016, the Stade de France was filled with excitement and anticipation. That day at Saint-Denis, Les Bleus faced Portugal. Although the French team was favourite to win their third home trophy, their hopes were dashed by Ronaldo’s team mates.
Roland Garros, the reign of Djokovic and Muguruza
From 22nd May to 5th June 2016, tennis fans had their eyes on the west of Paris and the legendary Roland Garros stadium, home of the famous international tournament. This competition was played over several courts, just as it is every year. After wins by Serena Williams and Stanislas Wawrinka in 2015, the 2016 edition titles were taken by Spain's Garbine Muguruza and Serbia’s Novak Djokovic who defeated British and World Number One, Andy Murray.

Sunday, July 24th 2016, Tour de France – after harrowing climbs, passes and steep descents, after falls and tumbles and after the 113 km 21st stage from Chantilly, the cyclists arrived on one of the most beautiful avenues in the world – the iconic Champs-Elysées.
Relaxation on the Paris Plages
If you were in Paris between July 20th and August 21st you could relax on the sand or enjoy some of the cultural and sporting activities offered by the city’s seasonal beaches of Paris Plages. From the square of the Hotel de Ville, passing by the Georges Pompidou road and the la Villette basin, the capital took on the atmosphere of a real seaside resort for over a month.
The world of the car at Porte de Versailles
From 1st to 16th October 2016, car enthusiasts had their eyes on Porte de Versailles and the 2016 World Car Show. Over one million visitors were welcomed to the world’s oldest and biggest car show. The event takes place every two years and highlights of this edition included the progressive performance of French brands and the increased presence of electric vehicles illustrating the automobile sector’s final push towards the transition to sustainable energy.
